NOMINATE a Soror Today!
This Founders Weekend, we will proudly honor outstanding Sorors and chapters who exemplify the spirit, service, and strength of Delta Sigma Theta. Nominations are Due December 8, 2026.
- The Gavel Award
- Purpose: To recognize a soror who is an elected official in the State of Illinois. The nominated soror must have served in 2025 and been financial for the 2025 and 2026 fiscal years.
- Trailblazer Award – Collegiate
- Purpose: This award will be given to an outstanding collegiate chapter that has exhibited innovation, creativity and quality execution in the areas of internal development, programmatic delivery, community involvement, chapter management, and member involvement.
- Trailblazer Award – Alumnae
- Purpose: This award will be given to an outstanding alumnae chapter that has exhibited innovation, creativity and quality execution in the areas of internal development, programmatic delivery, community involvement, chapter management, and member involvement.
- Minerva Award for Leadership
- Purpose: To recognize a soror that has made high personal and professional achievements; and significant contributions in Delta and the community. She also exhibits the wisdom of Minerva and the strategic attributes defined in the Delta Sigma Theta Leadership Competencies. The nominated soror must have been financial for the 2025 and 2026 fiscal years.
- Torch Bearer Award
- Purpose: This award recognizes a collegiate soror who keeps the Delta Torch aloft by going above and beyond for her chapter and her community as evidenced by high personal and professional achievements with significant contributions to Delta and the campus/community. The nominated soror illustrates the Sorority’s Nine Cardinal Virtues in her everyday life. Nominees should be sorors that maintain a strong commitment to academic excellence, demonstrate sisterhood and are model citizens through their public service activities. The nominated soror must have been financial for the 2025 and 2026 fiscal years.
- Fortitude Award
- Purpose: To recognize a soror age 62 and over, that has exhibited strength, courage, and perseverance in her personal and professional achievements, and made significant contributions in Delta and the community. The nominated soror must have been financial for the 2025 and 2026 fiscal years.
- We Are One Award
- Purpose: To recognize collegiate chapters for their unified academic excellence achievement. This award will be determined based upon the chapter’s cumulative grade point average (GPA) as of 6/30/25.
The award criteria have been shared directly with your chapter.
Now is the time to reflect on those Sorors and chapters making a true impact — the ones who lead, serve, and shine.
Award recipients will be announced and celebrated during our Saturday Luncheon.
